Am gestrigen Dienstag war ich zum ersten mal im Tonstudio Z von Jürgen Zimmer in Reiskirchen. Mein lieber Kollege und Freund John Gibbs (Songwriter und u.A. Autor des Liedes 'Irish Ways and Irish Laws') hatte es mir schon im letzten Jahr empfohlen, ich habe es aber aufgrund meiner anderen Projekte erst jetzt geschafft, einen Termin zu vereinbaren. Schon als ich das wild wachsende Immergrün im Vorgarten sah, wusste ich, dass ich hier an der richtigen Stelle war (wer es nicht weiß: mein Nachname ist der tschechische Name dieser schönen Pflanze). Das Studio selbst ist hell, sehr schön eingerichtet und perfekt ausgestattet. Eine große Aufnahmekabine mit Flügel, eine kleinere Gesangskabine, eine große Regie und ein kleiner Lounge-Berreich geben einem sofort das Gefühl, 'zu Hause' zu sein. An jeder Ecke merkt man, dass viel Herzblut in diesem Projekt steckt und das schlägt sich auch in Jürgens Arbeitsweise nieder. Er ist Perfektionist im positivsten Sinne, ist geduldig, lässt sich vollkommen offen auf Neues ein und gibt gute konstruktive Rückmeldung. Wir haben beide schnell gemerkt, dass wir ziemlich auf einer Wellenlänge liegen, was Produktionsqualitäten von Musik, aber auch Humor anbelangt. Beides sehr wichtig für eine gute Arbeitsatmosphäre. Gestern haben wir vier Lieder aus meinem Repertoire als Demos aufgenommen. Zwei davon sind von mir, zwei traditionelles Material, zwei mit Gitarre, zwei mit Bouzouki aufgenommen.
Die Demos könnt ihr nach und nach hier und auf meinem Soundcloud-Account hören. Den Anfang macht mein neuestes Lied 'Beauty that they Cannot Touch', welches ich vor wenigen Wochen geschrieben habe. Sobald das aktuellste der hochgeladenen Lieder 150 mal gehört wurde (auf dem Soundcloud Account), werde ich das nächste hochladen, bis die Demos komplett sind. Über konstruktive Kritik und 'Teilen' freue ich mich natürlich!

Yesterday I went to Jürgen Zimmer's 'Tonstudio Z' in Reiskirchen for the first time. My dear colleague and friend John Gibbs (Singer-Songwriter and author of among others 'Irish Ways and Irish Laws') recommended the studio to me as early as last year but other obligations made it impossible to me to get around to record there until this past Tuesday. As soon as I saw the periwinkle growing in the garden by the driveway I knew I was in the right place (in case you didn't know, my surname is Czech for that lovely plant). The studio is furnished in a beautiful way and is also equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This clearly is proof of how much heart Jürgen puts into this project. Having a huge recording booth with a grand piano, a smaller 'vocal booth', a big engineering room and a small lounge, the studio radiates an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Jürgen adds to this atmosphere as he is meticulous in the best possible way, patient, totally open to new projects and helpful in the suggestions he makes. It was clear from the outset that we shared not only a common idea of what constitutes a 'good record' but also a similar sense of humour, both of which are important for a good creative atmosphere. We recorded four songs, two of which were written by me. Two of the demos were recorded with my guitar, the other two with my bouzouki.
In time, you will find these songs on my Soundcloud account and this site. I start with my newest composition 'Beauty that they Cannout Touch' which I wrote a few weeks ago. As soon as the most recent upload has 150 'plays' on Soundcloud I will upload the next one, till we are finished! Naturally, comments and shares are most welcome!
