Fánaí - Wanderfolk ohne Grenzen/Roaming-Folk that knows no borders

Fánaí was founded in 2012, following a short tour Claus Jahn and me had been playing in the spring of that year. Claus had stepped in for Johannes Single who had to cancel the gigs three days before the tour due to being sick. Since we worked well together, both musically and personally, we decided to become a duo. We chose Fánaí (Gaelic for 'rover' or 'nomad') as our band name because no matter where we play at least one of us needs to travel a fair distance (we also like hiking but that is secondary).
Fánaí's repertoire consists mostly of original and traditional songs but we do roam in our collection, meaning that we play Irish, Scottish, American and German music in our own style. Add a few instrumentals and (humorous) storytelling and you've got what Fánaí is all about: accoustic music that knows no borders.
