Green Highland - Liedermacherfolk/Singer-Songwriter-Folk

Green Highland was founded by Frank Gnadl and me in the winter/spring of 2005/2006. We had played a short set in Friedberg sometime in November and decided to become a full band. Eva Borchers was the first to join our ranks, forming the first line-up with which we played a small number of gigs. Band members came and went as it is prone to happen with part-time-musicians like us, and it took a while for the current line-up to emerge. In 2007 Frank had to leave the band as he was moving to Lithuania. As a 'farewell gift' he produced our first album which bears the apt title "Farewell to a Friend".
Next to traditional songs, originals (most of which I wrote) are an important part of our repertoire. This is reflected by our newest album "Stay Afloat" that contains 12 tracks of which only three are traditional material. Due to our wide musical tastes, our song-writing and our arrangements are influenced by folk, rock, singer-songwriter and roots which gives the band a fresh sound that sets us apart from many other folk-bands.
